Tilery
A large and challenging water of approximately 20 acres, offering specimen-style fishing in a quiet and picturesque setting.
Tilery is one of H&DAA’s larger stillwaters. With a relatively small stock spread across approximately 20 acres, location is often the key to success and members should not approach it expecting a runs water.
The venue is best suited to experienced anglers and specimen hunters who enjoy the challenge of a large, lightly stocked water. Carp and pike are among its best-known species, while there are also some very nice roach and bream present.
Tilery can be demanding because of its size, the walk to the water, changing conditions and the relatively isolated nature of the fishery. In return, it offers attractive surroundings, excellent wildlife encounters and the possibility of a memorable fish.

Tilery contains a varied stock of coarse and predator species:

The water is particularly associated with carp and pike, although its relatively low stock density and the pressures affecting the fishery mean that specimen potential can be difficult to predict.
There are some very nice roach and bream present, and the size of the venue means there is always the possibility of something unexpected.
Float fishing, ledgering, feeder fishing and method-feeder tactics can all be used. Spinning is also an option when permitted under the Association’s current predator and lure-fishing rules.

Access & Parking
Approach through Broomfleet towards Blue Lagoon and Brickyard. Members should park sensibly at Brickyard, ensuring there is sufficient room for other vehicles and keeping the disabled peg at Brickyard clear.
From Brickyard, continue on foot past Danny’s. There is no longer a gate on this section of the path. The route runs alongside Danny’s and then follows the edge of the field towards Heart Attack Alley.
Please keep to the edge of the field and be mindful of farm machinery.

Tilery is a demanding venue to access. The walk to the water is approximately half a mile and members should prepare for the distance, terrain and the amount of tackle they intend to carry.
The venue is not considered suitable for members with limited mobility and is not recommended as a beginner, junior or family venue.

Safety & Respect
Tilery is located in a working environment and presents hazards beyond those normally associated with a fishing venue. These include plant and quarry machinery, farm machinery, deep water, steep or slippery banks, flooding, difficult access and the isolated nature of the fishery.
H&DAA Rules
All members fishing Tilery must comply with the current Hull & District Anglers’ Association Rules, observe all venue signs and closures, remain within the permitted fishery and follow instructions relating to the live quarry and factory environment.
Hull & District Anglers’ Association
Membership of HDAA is open to anyone who agrees to abide by our common-sense Fishery Rules. All membership permits run from 1st Jan to 31st December annually. Membership allows angling on most of the Association’s venues from 5.00am to 10.00pm (except Carlton on Trent where the start time is 7.00am).
