Brandesburton 2 Pond

No 2 Pond is a mature gravel pit of about two acres holding some great carp, roach and bream.

The pond contains a good head of carp and has had several recent stocking of carp which are growing well. There is also a small shoal of big bream that have been caught into double-figures. The roach fishing tends to be at its best early in the year when pole-fished maggots can produce some excellent sport. The water has seen the capture of some large perch in the past, with fish up to 3lb 10oz reported. There are also pike and eels present.

The paths and swims are regularly maintained – all in all the pond, which is deep, offers good fishing in comfortable surroundings.

The Association’s Brandesburton Ponds are all protected with otter fences.

Follow the A165 (Hull to Bridlington) road. Go down Hempholme Lane, just past the Blue Rose Country Park. Follow this road for about half a mile. The gate for No 2 Pond and 3&4 Pond is on the left.

Parking

Parking must be in the first car park adjacent to No 3&4 Pond. Members must not block farm access to fields. Under no circumstances drive into the field, even just to unload or collect tackle. If you do it will result in a life ban. Please note that security gates are fitted to all vehicle access points at the Brandesburton fisheries and are locked at all times. A combination will be supplied with your annual membership. During sowing and harvest time the gate may be left open by the farmer for farm vehicle access during the day only.
