A stunning but challenging water of around an acre and a half, with plenty of weed, tree and reed cover and some excellent tench fishing.

Burshill B is approximately an acre and a half in size and has a very natural feel, with trees and reeds lining the water and plenty of weed present.

The venue holds carp, common bream, tench, roach, rudd, perch and pike. Tench are one of the main attractions, with fish of 7lb and above present.

This isn’t necessarily an easy water. Both the carp and tench can prove challenging, but for many anglers that is part of Burshill B’s appeal.

Burshill B holds a good range of coarse and predator species:

Carp
Common Bream
Tench
Roach
Rudd
Perch
Pike

Float fishing, ledgering and feeder fishing are all suitable approaches. The water can fish particularly well during the early part of the season and again in late autumn.

Tench are one of Burshill B’s highlights, with fish of 7lb and above present. Traditional coarse tactics aren’t always the only answer: small carp-style baits and small boilies can be well worth considering when specifically targeting the tench.

Carp fishing can also be challenging, particularly with the amount of weed and cover present. Patience and careful presentation can be important on this water.

“If you’re fishing for the tench, don’t overlook carp-style tactics. Small baits and boilies can work when normal coarse tactics aren’t producing. It’s a stunning venue, but it can be very tricky.”

Access & Parking

Enter through the main gates and proceed to the right, passing Burshill A. Burshill B is then situated on the left-hand side.

Parking is available against the fence on the left-hand side. There is also parking towards the end of the track.

Winter access: the parking area at the end of the track becomes poor during winter. Do not drive beyond the standing pallet.

Accessibility & Facilities

Burshill B is not considered suitable for wheelchair users or members with significant mobility limitations. The natural banks and access around the fishery should be taken into account before visiting.

Safety & Respect

Burshill B is a deep and natural water with substantial weed, reeds and tree cover. Members should take appropriate care around the margins.

Take care around deep water. Do not assume that the margins are shallow.

Be aware of the weed. Consider the conditions and your ability to safely land fish before choosing where to fish.

Take care on the natural banks. Access can become more difficult in poor weather.

Do not drive beyond the standing pallet. The end of the track and parking area can become particularly poor during winter.

All members fishing Burshill B must comply with the current Hull & District Anglers’ Association Rules and observe all notices displayed at the fishery.

Membership of HDAA is open to anyone who agrees to abide by our common-sense Fishery Rules. All membership permits run from 1st Jan to 31st December annually. Membership allows angling on most of the Association’s venues from 5.00am to 10.00pm (except Carlton on Trent where the start time is 7.00am).
