A tranquil six-acre-plus fishery offering challenging but rewarding fishing, excellent bream potential and an abundance of wildlife.
Brickyard is a peaceful water of just over six acres. It isn’t an easy runs water, but that is part of its appeal. Fish location, preparation and patience can be important, and the venue offers the opportunity to catch fish that aren’t encountered every day.
Bream are one of the water’s main attractions, with genuine specimen potential. Carp, tench, roach, rudd, perch, pike and eels are also present.
The venue is equally enjoyable for members who appreciate their surroundings. Brickyard supports an impressive variety of wildlife and provides a quiet setting in which to spend a day fishing.
Brickyard contains a good range of coarse and predator species:
Carp
Common Bream
Tench
Roach
Rudd
Perch
Pike
Eels
Bream are the venue’s standout species, with fish of specimen proportions possible. Bream of around 16lb or more are within the water’s potential.
Feeder and method-feeder tactics can both be effective. Stalking can also produce fish for anglers prepared to watch the water and respond to signs of activity.
May and June are particularly worth considering, although Brickyard can produce fish throughout the season.

Head towards Broomfleet and Blue Lagoon, then drive alongside the canal on The Landing. Cross the yellow bridge over the canal and look for the green H&DAA gate on the left.
Once through the green gate, close the gate immediately behind you. Continue slowly down the track for approximately 265 yards. The car park is on the left.
Peg 1 is the designated disability peg and allows a vehicle to be parked directly within the peg.
The general path around Brickyard is not suitable for wheelchair use. Members who need assistance are encouraged to contact the bailiff team in advance; Mark, Dan or Ryan may be able to assist where arrangements can be made.
Brickyard can also be a rewarding family venue. It offers an opportunity to enjoy nature and practise skills such as rig preparation and watercraft without the pressure of fishing a heavily stocked runs water.
Brickyard has deep water and areas of steep or slippery bank. Members should also remain aware that the surrounding area includes working farm, plant and quarry activity.
All members fishing Brickyard must comply with the current Hull & District Anglers’ Association Rules, observe all fishery boundaries and notices, keep the disabled access at Peg 1 clear and remain strictly within H&DAA’s permitted water.
Membership of HDAA is open to anyone who agrees to abide by our common-sense Fishery Rules. All membership permits run from 1st Jan to 31st December annually. Membership allows angling on most of the Association’s venues from 5.00am to 10.00pm (except Carlton on Trent where the start time is 7.00am).
We have teamed up with shops, companies, suppliers, etc. to offer discounts to our members on production of a valid membership card.
