A rewarding carp water with just six available pegs, good margin fishing and carp into the high twenties.
Brandesburton Pond 2 is a relatively small and intimate water with six pegs currently available, one peg having been closed. It is particularly known for its carp and can produce some excellent fish for anglers prepared to be patient.
Carp run into the late twenties, while the water also holds some impressive bream, with fish up to 12lb recorded. Roach, rudd, perch, pike and eels complete the current species list.
This is not necessarily an easy water, but it can be extremely rewarding. Don’t become too concerned about finding the so-called best peg – patience, observation and making the most of the margins can pay off.
Brandesburton Pond 2 holds:
Carp
Common Bream
Roach
Rudd
Perch
Pike
Eels
Carp are the main attraction, with fish reaching the late twenties. The bream should not be overlooked either, with specimens up to 12lb recorded.
Ledgering, surface fishing and stalking are all suitable methods. The water can fish well throughout the year.
For a first visit, don’t automatically look towards the middle of the pond. The margins are well worth concentrating on and can produce some of the venue’s better fishing.
