Rush Lyvars

Rush Lyvars is a very popular commercial fishery situated in Hedon, on the eastern outskirts of Hull. It comprises two lakes – The Shallows and the Deeps.

For 2017, Association members will be able to fish the ‘Shallows’ pond with up to two (2) rods, on production of their H&DAA membership cards and payment of £3 per day.Whilst obviously the arrangement is not free, it still represents a considerable saving on their normal day ticket price.

Rush Lyvars ranks as one of East Yorkshire’s premier mixed fisheries and it is certainly one of the most scenic. Its location just four miles to the east of Hull, offers both excellent fishing and is close enough for local members to spend a few hours on a summer evening. The ‘Shallows’ is a 4½ acre lake with an average depth of 6ft surrounded by 50 high-quality, well-spaced pegs and excellent onsite facilities including secure parking and toilets.

The pond is very heavily stocked with most coarse fish species, including bream, carp averaging 8lb, big ide to 5lb, and excellent tench, roach, rudd, etc. Matches of up to 25 pegs are held on the venue throughout the year with winning weights in the 40-90lb range, and 50lb is usually required to finish in the top three. Sensible venue-specific rules are in place including barbless hooks only, no keepnets, no dog or cat food, no groundbait or hemp, and no non-fishing guests. Some wheel-chair friendly pegs are available. Anyone not in possession of a valid H&DAA membership card on the day will be asked to pay or leave.

Please remember that our agreement is for a 12-month trial and we expect members to treat Rush Lyvars and its owners with the utmost respect and to ensure they fish within the rules – anyone failing to do so will be referred to the Delegates’ Committee and may well have their membership terminated.
