Hull & District Anglers’ Association
The Brough Complex is now largely open for fishing and provides good disabled access with the majority of pegs providing parking directly adjacent to them.
Kingfisher Pond is open for junior members and for coaching sessions only. Hawk Pond is now fully open via use of the completed pegs. Osprey Pond is now open for members with the appropriate Osprey Pond permit. Avocet Pool opened in 2010. Cygnet Pond remains closed but it is hoped redevelopment will take place in 2011.
This former British Aerospace pond is well known to local anglers and has a reputation for producing specimen fish, particularly pike and tench.
Prior to the Association's purchase of the site there was one large pond with a side channel and a second shallow pond that was almost reeded up. Since purchasing the site the Association has spent well over £120,000 on its development. Additionally, a small number of members have given well over 6,000 hours of voluntary hours to the project. When finally completed the complex will provide five separate fisheries offering the membership a range of angling experiences.
If you would like to help with the development of this complex, please contact Derek Pye on 07811 897033 to volunteer.
