The Newport and Boomfleet Ponds

The Newport and Broomfleet ponds are a collection of venues within easy reach of the M62 motorway.

Motorway Pond - is an attractive, mature sand/clay pit of just over 18 acres situated in Newport. The fishery holds several different species and has a deserved reputation for big fish having produced the Yorkshire carp record fish of 42lb 3oz in 1999.

Blue Lagoon - is situated at Broomfleet Landing. It is a popular water of about 2 acres and offers an alternative to the nearby Market Weighton Canal fishery.

Brickyard Pond - is a very old mature clay pit and holds some excellent fish stocks of tench, bream, roach, carp and pike.

Tilery Lake - is justly considered to be one of the finest carp fisheries in the area. This is 20 acres clay pit holds in the region of 70 carp over 18lb and as many as 40-50 fish over 20lb.
