Burshill B Pond

Burshill B is one of two ponds in the Burshill Fishery part of the Brandesburton Complex.

A mature and fairly shallow fishery of about two acres. It is primarily a tench water but does contain roach, rudd, pike and the odd carp.

It can become weedy in summer, but in early 2011 we plan to try a new treatment to alleviate the problem. Early morning or evening are the best times for tench fishing and those caught are often of a good size. 5Ib fish are not uncommon, in 2008 a fish of 8Ib 2oz was reported.

The fishery received a major facelift in 2010, all swims renewed and an extra swim created, and also a completely new path has been created giving easy access around the venue.

The venue is another to benefit from the Association’s restocking program with; 450 crucian carp, 440 ide and 200 young tench stocked in late 2010.
