Burshill A Pond
Burshill A is a pond about 1.5 acres and has been created and developed as a pleasure fishery by the Association. It is one of two ponds in the Burshill Fishery, part of the Brandesburton Complex. Unlike the neighboring pits it is shallow and flat-bottomed, and has been heavily stocked with small fish with the intention of making the fishing easy. All the swims are easily accessible and have timber staging. The pond is also well sheltered from the wind. If you like to fish in comfort and have a constant bend in your rod, this is the place for you. Previously the Pond has suffered with excessive weed growth but hard work by the officers now seems to have solved this issue. This venue received a major stocking of 400 small carp in late 2009.
