Stocking up before Christmas!Early October saw the Association embark on the latest phase of its initiative to restock its venues. A further £20,000 has been spent purchasing fish to ensure improved sport for its members. Hawk Pond on the Brough Complex has seen yet another major stock- Also at Brough; Avocet Pool received a further stocking of 50 1lb+ Tench to complement this venues rapidly expanding stock. And at Brandesburton we stocked Burshill B with 200 small Carp and a further 50 1lb+ Tench in the hope of attracting more anglers to this often neglected fishery. |

The Association also took delivery of a large number of carp, top quality specimens
averaging 8lb and 3 years old. They should grow to around 20lb within the next 3- Firstly, Motorway Pond received 30 8lb carp, bringing the total number introduced in two years to 50, which along with the existing stock should offer members, the prospect of high quality carp fishing for many years to come. |

Brickyard Pond saw a further 10 carp added, taking the venues carp stock to around 40 fish. As the years pass, this should be just enough to retain ‘Bricky’s’ reputation as a difficult venue, while still offering members a realistic prospect of success. Tilery Lake, once considered by many of us to be Yorkshire’s finest carp water, hadn’t seen carp introduced for nearly twenty years. This October, 40 carp were stocked to both replace the Tilery’s oldest inhabitants and offer members prized captures in the future. 20 carp where also introduced into Osprey Lake at Brough, bringing to completion

3&4 Pond is another venue which hadn’t received fresh carp for many years, but this
neglect has now been addressed with the stocking of 52 heavily- This brings our total investment over three years, to more than £40,000 on fish alone.
It represents a radical change in the way we manage our fisheries and defines our
